👤 Who made this
Endless Sky Nexus was created and developed by GIVEMEFOOD5: deciding what it does,
designing and testing every feature, and directing its development. AI assistants supported that development,
including helping to write code and text. It's a fan project, not affiliated with the Endless Sky developers.

🧩 Page Features
What each page on the site currently does (and is planned to do).
📊 Data ViewerLive
Every ship, variant and outfit from the base game and your selected plugins, as a searchable card grid
Search by name or display name (search carries over between Ships and Variants)
Filters by category and by government (who flies or sells it), with Clear Filters
Multi-attribute sorter with computed stats (energy, heat, DPS …) and per-sort averages
Item pop-up with tabs for attributes, where to get it, thumbnail and sprite
Ships and outfits with a display name show it first, with the internal name dimmed — everywhere on the site
⚖️ CompareLive
Compare bar at the bottom of the Data Viewer, with a quantity for each item
Full-screen comparison in columns or as one table
Group comparisons — bundle several ships or outfits into one column
Best and worst values highlighted on every row
⚓ Ship BuilderLive
Several fleets per pilot (new, rename, duplicate, delete), kept in your account when logged in
Start from a game ship (outfit or fully edit it), from scratch, or by pasting ship data — “+ Add ship” shows every way
Outfit picker with type-ahead search, capacity bars, gun/turret hardpoints and expandable outfit stats
Live stats with energy, heat and fuel checks, and undo (↶ / Ctrl+Z)
Export to Endless Sky data format, share ships with other pilots, and put a ship straight into one of your saves (add or refit, with a before/after comparison and optional payment)
⚡ Auto-fitLive
Builds a fit for a goal: damage (primary, secondary or both), acceleration, top speed, tank, cargo, bunks, all-round, or just your own targets
🎯 Beat an enemy: fits against a government or chosen ships — their missiles and tracking, damage types, range, speed and anti-missile
Targets on any stat or attribute (at least / at most / as close as possible / as much or as little as possible) with priorities
Only uses outfits you can get: your selected plugins, factions you have met, outfitters you have visited, licences you hold, what you own — and stealing, with its reputation cost and the story missions that repair it
Exclude list and a “no secondary weapons” switch, both remembered
All-round is judged against ships of the same class and weight
Every result is checked (fits, moves, turns, powers and cools itself, crew, fuel, ammo) and refitted if a check fails; “⚔ Test in Battle Simulator” fights it for real
⚔️ Battle SimulatorLive
Any number of teams with custom names and colours, any ships and counts
Shields, hull, energy, heat, ion and other damage types, missiles and anti-missile
Pilots fly the fight: distance, kiting, aiming, dodging, turning and missile guidance
Choose which ships have skilled pilots — per ship, how many of a stack, per team (“Make all skilled”) or everyone
Report of how the fight was flown, HP-over-time chart, phase breakdown, and a win matrix with rankings for 3+ teams
🌌 Systems MapLive
Interactive galaxy map of your selected plugins: systems, planets, governments, jump links and wormholes
Search systems, click planets for details, toggle map layers
Timeline: preview any story event’s map changes; with a save, step through your pilot’s history and see what’s coming up
Trade runs between systems, and “as your pilot sees it” when a save is open
📜 MissionsLive
Every mission from your selected plugins: where it starts, its requirements and rewards, and the raw definition
With a save open: each mission’s status for your pilot and whether you can get it now
Filters for status, availability and job-board missions; loads in batches so it stays quick on phones
💾 Saves & AccountLive
Keep as many saves as you like (or choose “No save” to use the site without a pilot); saves sync to your account when logged in
Overview of your fleet, cargo, where items are stored, income and licences, plus a health check for missing plugins, ships and outfits
Save editor with search, pages and undo: pilot, credits, date, ships (add, refit, flagship, park), cargo, licences, reputation, missions, events and conditions
Complete a mission with its rewards, or schedule a story event
Link a save to its game file: re-scan after playing and save edits straight back into the game
Account: username, profile page with your shared ships, and downloading or deleting your data
🧩 Plugin ManagerLive
Every plugin included on the site, and whether the parser is running
Add plugins by ZIP or link, edit their names or links, or remove them
🐞 Known Bugs
Issues we're aware of and working through.
⚠️Not every plugin shows as found On Saves & Account a save may list plugins as not found. Either the plugin hasn’t been added to the site, or it has no ships, outfits or missions for the parser to read, so there’s nothing to show for it.
⚠️Battle teams fly as one group In the Battle Simulator each team manoeuvres as a single group (averaged speed, turning and size); individual ships in a team don’t fly separately or in formation.
⚠️Auto-fit is a strong estimate, not a proof Auto-fit builds fits step by step and checks them, but doesn’t try every possible combination, and its damage figures don’t model aim, homing or range exactly — use ⚔ Test in Battle Simulator to see a real fight.
⚠️Some data appears only after the parser runs Government lists, reputation repairs and display names come from the data parser; after the site’s code changes they appear once the next parse has finished.
🛠️ Future Development Plans
What's on the roadmap.
🚧Plugin Writer A screen to run my scripts against any plugins you choose, to help make them compatible with each other.
🚧More auto-fit options A credits budget (defaulting to your pilot’s credits), outfits to always keep, sliders for what “all-round” means to you, and “why this outfit?” explanations.
🚧Compare and save fits Keep several auto-fit results side by side and save the ones you like as designs.
🚧Fit for a mission Pick a mission and make sure the ship has the cargo, bunks and jump range it needs.
🚧Ships that fly separately in battles Let each ship in a team manoeuvre on its own instead of as one group.
